What Is DotComMothers? DotComMothers is an online publication of success stories of business moms . Most of these moms run a home based business but some run their businesses outside of their home. I plan to publish at least three interviews every month. If you want to be a home business entrepreneur then the business success stories of these mom entrepreneurs are sure to inspire you. If you want to work from home then these interviews will give you business ideas. |

| My name is Sandy Naidu. I have been a home business entrepreneur for the past 5 years. I am a software programmer by trade. After the birth of my daughter I started working as a freelance programmer. This was in 2002. I was making a good living and was enjoying what I was doing. In 2006 after the birth of my son, I started to look for a change. My two main criteria for my next business was to find something I am passionate about and something which will allow me to work from home. I was intrigued by the opportunities in the internet marketing industry. I started researching this industry and after a few months of research and reading I decided to make ‘internet marketing’ my next new business. I still work from home. | A lot of us would love to become a home business entrepreneur and say good-bye to the cubicle job. The reasons for starting a business are not always the same for all of us. Some love the flexibility, some want the money, some do it for passion etc etc…For most moms though the primary reason to start a home based business is so that they can spend more time at home with their children. And this is the reason why these moms (me included) want to become home business entrepreneurs - we love the fact that we can determine our own working hours. | ||
| The first stumbling block for most moms who want to start their own business is ‘what home based business do I start?’. They get stuck with this question and a lot of them spend months and sometimes years trying to find an answer to this question. And the worst part is that most of them actually get quite tired trying to find the answer to this question and they give me up the idea of creating their own business.These are the people who lead their lives thinking - ‘if only I had the right business idea’. | ||
| Ideas Stage: The first stop is always the trade you are in. You can turn your trade into a business. But if you don’t really have the passion to do this then you have to look elsewhere. There are a lot of websites which list the different types of home businesses one can start. Scan through and see if you can find a good business idea. You can look through the various lists available on the internet to come up with a perfect business idea. DotComMothers is a bit different. On this website rather than listing the 100’s of different home businesses one can start, I publish interviews with moms who have created their own successful businesses. If so, do some market research and find out if there is a market potential for that product. Seize this opportunity and build a business to fill this untapped market. You can kick start your research on the internet. Start at home and create a product and build your home based business. | ||
| What About Your Trade/Profession: Maybe you can turn your profession into a business. If you are a copywriter then start a copywriting business. A word of caution here though - Do this only if you are truly passionate about your trade. This is an excellent way to start a home based business. | ||
